A manuscript that reframes spacetime from a single postulate, namely that every observer moves at the speed of light through spacetime. Time becomes a phase and the metric a matrix of mutual rates between clocks.
Spacetime as a network of clocks: the mutual-rate matrix as primary object
Draft paper. It takes the matrix of mutual clock rates as the primary object, proves a theorem on its rank and derives a bound on the so-called gravitational second clock effect from published strontium-clock data.
